Aurora Bravo

Figuration was my style for more than 40 years exhibiting my work. Now I have needed to create, feel, and squeeze, breaking with everything established to give birth to everything I need to express. [...] I have learned to unlearn what I have learned... This is the essence of expressive creation. I only keep the knowledge that experience gives me, rejecting pre-established forms and concepts. AURORA BRAVO (Carbajo, Spain, 1960) studied at the Universidad Complutense and the Faculty of Fine Arts (Madrid), the Museo San Telmo (San Sebastián), and was a student of the masters Rafael R. Balerdi and Eduardo Chillida. In 1992 she founded her own school. She also studied in Milan (Italy) and on later trips to New York and Los Angeles (United States). She specialized in oil portraits and executed pictorial commissions for various churches. She has exhibited widely in Spain and in Germany, the United States, France, England, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Peru, Portugal and Venezuela. Her work can be found in private collections in Germany, Spain, Italy, North America, Portugal and the United Kingdom and in institutions such as The Florida Museum of Hispanic-American Art.
