Aniet Katerine de la Paz Herrera

The landscape – of any kind I imagine or have ever seen - provokes something inexplicable in me. I paint landscapes because I need to look at them calmly; without the rush of seeing them from a car or from a window or in any way that makes them ephemeral: the clouds, with all the shapes they build up in a matter of seconds; the mountains with all their curves, some more sensual than others; the trees (...). In short, all colour schemes, which if we stop to observe them with our eyes half-open, we can turn them into whatever comes to mind without them ceasing to be completely beautiful landscapes.

ANIET KATERINE DE LA PAZ HERRERA (Manzanillo, Cuba, 1992)
Visual artist and dentist. She studied at Carlos Enríquez Professional Academy of Plastic Arts. She is a member and president of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) in Manzanillo. She has held various personal exhibitions and participated in salons and group exhibitions in Bayamo, Manzanillo, Havana and Santiago de Cuba. She has also ventured into the literary field and illustration (Editorial Sanlope, Las Tunas, 2013). Her works are found in collections in Canada, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Jamaica, Solomon Islands, Spain, Switzerland, the United States of America, and Uruguay. She is the winner of the First Prize at the National Festival of Plastic Arts of Santiago de Cuba (2009) and El Reino de este Mundo Creation Scholarship (2023), as well as other awards, mentions, and recognitions.
